STANDARD CULTURE LIMITATION

So far, the wound healing assay is a 2D cell migration assay done by making a scratch on a cell monolayer to produce a cell-free area. The main limitation is that there could be inconsistencies with the depth and size of the scratch.

 

WOUND HEALING ASSAY

With 4Dcell Micropatterns click chemistry, cells adhere on a confined space surrounded by non-adhesive coating. In a second step, the rest of the space become available by adding a peptide on the surface of the coverslip allowing cells to migrate. The size of the cell-free area is then the same for every experiment [1].

When RPE1 cells are cultured on micropatterns with click chemistry technology, cells can migrate after the activation of the migration by BCN-RGD pulse.
